Beer + Lederhosen = Fun
On any normal day, getting drunk in public while wearing lederhosen would be frowned upon... then again, you tend to see a lot of strange things in Chicago.
The 87th Annual German-American Festival was held this past weekend in Lincoln Square, and it was yet another great exampe of Chicago's cultural diversity. People of all ages, from all kinds of backgrounds gathered to celebrate America's German heritage.
To say that this festival was "fun" does not even begin to describe the atmosphere. With traditional German music (and dancing), delicious food, and a parade... the Germans simply know how to throw a block party. If you missed the festival this year, be sure to make the effort to come next year - you won't regret it.
Events like this are really what make Chicago a phenomenal city. Not all cities appreciate their diversity, but that's part of the reason I love Chicago.
